How We Met

Stacey and Warren first conversed on the Internet via the online dating site “RSVP”. Warren had been looking at Stacey’s profile for some time before he plucked up the courage to send her a ‘kiss‘.  Stacey returned the ‘kiss‘ and before too long we were setting up our first meeting. Our first date consisted of ten pin bowling, playing pool and eating fish and chips down at The Entrance for dinner before quickly setting up our next date.

Before long Warren and Stacey were spending every day together, and after 6 month we moved in together to North Gosford.

The Proposal

Warren and Stacey had organised to go up to the Hunter Valley Gardens to see the Christmas Lights Spectacular. By this stage, Warren had already bought a temporary ring (the new ring), and spoken to both of Stacey’s parents to ask permission to marry their daughter (both of them were thrilled!).

Warren had it in his pocket the entire night; Stacey had no idea! They walked through the gardens – Stacey admiring the lights at dusk, Warren scouting potential proposal sights. A second walk through the gardens at 9pm saw most of Warren’s potential sights full of children and families – not really a romantic opportunity.

Then as they neared the end of the gardens, the perfect location presented itself – in front of the waterfall under a weeping willow tree.

On bended knee Warren presented Stacey with a box, with little flowers inside he had hand picked from the gardens (sorry HVG!) encasing a beautiful ring. Stacey did not believe it at first, but when Warren asked THE question, she instantly said YES!! Through the blur of what just happened, Stacey and Warren managed to take in the rest of the lights show before being rained on and running to the car. The 40 minutes it took to leave the car park gave Stacey and Warren the opportunity to ring the family – who obviously already knew it was happening – and the rest, as they say, is history!
